Reserve with Google: How to Enable Booking Directly From Your Google Business Profile
Reserve with Google lets customers book appointments directly from your Google Business Profile and Google Maps listing — without visiting your website. Here is what it is, which businesses can use it, how to set it up, and how it affects local SEO.

When someone finds your business on Google Maps and wants to book an appointment, how many steps are between "I want this" and "I've booked it"?
Reserve with Google collapses that gap to one step — a "Book" button directly on your GBP listing that lets customers schedule without leaving Google.
What the booking experience looks like for customers
Without Reserve with Google:
- Customer finds your business on Google Maps
- Clicks your website link
- Navigates to your booking page
- Fills out booking form or picks a time
- Receives confirmation
With Reserve with Google:
- Customer finds your business on Google Maps
- Clicks "Book"
- Picks a time and confirms
- Receives confirmation
The friction reduction is significant. Customers searching on mobile — the majority of local searches — are more likely to complete a booking that doesn't require leaving Maps and navigating a website. Every additional click in the booking flow loses a percentage of potential customers.
Which scheduling platforms support it
Reserve with Google works through scheduling platforms that have a Google integration. If your current platform isn't on this list, check their documentation for Google integration support:
Widely supported platforms:
- Acuity Scheduling — enables through the Integrations settings
- Mindbody — fitness and wellness, has native Reserve with Google support
- Square Appointments — Square's scheduling tool integrates directly
- Vagaro — salon, spa, and fitness booking
- Booksy — beauty and barbershop scheduling
- Zocdoc — healthcare scheduling
- OpenTable — restaurant reservations
- Fresha — salon and spa
- SimplyBook.me — general appointment booking
- Schedulista — general service businesses
For home services: Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, and Jobber do not currently have direct Reserve with Google integrations for appointment-type bookings, though this changes — check your platform's current integration list.
How to enable it
Step 1: Confirm your current scheduling platform is supported. Check the platform's integrations page or search "[your platform] Reserve with Google."
Step 2: Enable the Google integration in your scheduling platform settings. This is typically under "Integrations," "Connections," or "Channel Management."
Step 3: Authorize the connection with your Google account. The platform will request permission to post to your GBP.
Step 4: The booking button appears on your GBP within a few days. Check your live listing on Google Maps to confirm it's showing.
If your platform isn't supported: Some businesses add a second, lightweight booking tool specifically for the Google integration while keeping their primary system. Acuity and Fresha have free tiers that can serve this purpose.
What "Book an Appointment" links look like vs. full Reserve with Google
There are two different booking-related features in GBP:
Booking URL link — a simple link added to your GBP that takes customers to your booking page. This is manual, requires no platform integration, and is available to any business with an online booking page. See: Google Business Profile Booking Link guide.
Reserve with Google button — the native in-GBP booking experience with real-time availability. Requires platform integration. Customers book without leaving Google. This is Reserve with Google.
The Reserve with Google button is superior for conversion because it's lower friction and stays in the Google environment. The booking URL link is available to any business immediately, without platform setup.
Local SEO and booking signals
Businesses with booking functionality on their GBP show higher action rates — more customers interact with the profile in a way that signals to Google the business is active and converting traffic.
More broadly, adding a booking channel to your GBP reduces the step between "found you on Google" and "became a customer." For businesses where speed-to-booking correlates with close rate — med spas, dental practices, fitness studios — this reduction in friction has a direct revenue impact.
