Our Craft
We started Foundry & Frame because we were tired of renovations that looked great in the showroom and landed flat in the home. Every project we take on begins with the architecture of the existing space — its light, its bones, its proportions — and builds outward from there.
Our team handles framing through finish in-house. No subcontractor churn, no dropped handoffs. One crew from demolition day to punch list.

A 1920s bungalow kitchen stripped back to studs, re-plumbed, and rebuilt with custom shaker cabinetry, leathered quartzite counters, and a new window wall that floods the space with morning light.

Walk-in shower, heated concrete floors, and a freestanding soaking tub positioned beneath a new skylight. Tile work by our in-house mason.
AdditionNE Portland · 2023
800 sq ft added to the rear of a 1940s colonial: open-plan kitchen and family room below, primary suite above. Matched the original cedar siding and trim profile throughout.
Full RenovationPearl District · 2023
Former warehouse loft converted to full-time residence. Exposed structural steel retained, new mezzanine bedroom added, kitchen and bath built from scratch within the open volume.
ExteriorLake Oswego · 2022
New fiber cement siding, cedar trim, and standing seam metal roof. Landscape grading corrected drainage issues that had haunted the home for a decade.
Process & Detail
From homeowners
We interviewed four contractors. Foundry & Frame were the only ones who actually looked at how the light moved through the rooms before they started talking about materials.
Every single person on their crew knew the full scope of the project. We never repeated ourselves to anyone. That alone was worth the price.
They matched a trim profile from 1942. We had three people tell us it couldn't be done without custom millwork. Foundry & Frame did it in three weeks.
Before you call
We work on projects ranging from single-room renovations to whole-home transformations and additions. Our minimum engagement is typically $40,000, which covers a mid-range bathroom or a modest kitchen update.
A full kitchen gut and rebuild — new layout, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, and finishes — runs 8 to 14 weeks for most homes. We give you a detailed schedule at the estimate stage and hold to it.
Yes. We pull all required permits and manage inspections from start to finish. You will not need to interact with the city building department.
We are fully licensed with the Oregon Construction Contractors Board and carry $2M general liability plus workers compensation. We provide certificates on request.
Both. We have long-standing relationships with several Portland residential architects and interior designers, or we're happy to coordinate directly with your team.
