Squarespace looks great. It just doesn't sell.
Squarespace is the platform designers pick. That's the problem. It optimizes for looking good, not for the mechanical work of turning a search into a booked job.
Squarespace is legitimately excellent for portfolio businesses. A photographer showing a body of work. An interior designer with a project gallery. A restaurant with a menu and photos. If your visitor's question is "does this feel right?" and the answer is a picture, Squarespace is fine.
Squarespace breaks down when your visitor's question is "will these people show up on time?" or "what will this actually cost?" — the questions local service customers actually ask. The templates don't leave room for the specific answers that convert those visitors. The SEO tooling is shallow. AI search almost never quotes a Squarespace page.
A pretty site with no phone calls is worse than an ugly site with a full pipeline. Every Squarespace client who came to us was proud of how the site looked and frustrated that no one was calling. The problem was structural, not visual.

Migration from Squarespace is straightforward because your existing site has usable content and (usually) decent structure. We keep the visual direction you already like, add the SEO layer Squarespace couldn't give you, and 301 every URL forward. Three to four weeks for a full local service site.
Common questions
Can't I just add Google Analytics + some SEO plugins to Squarespace?
Squarespace has built-in analytics and an SEO panel. That's not the problem. The problem is that Squarespace pages have thin structured markup and generic templates that Google can't distinguish. No plugin fixes that from inside Squarespace.
Won't my new site look worse if it's not on Squarespace?
